What is Air Brush Tanning?
The safest way to achieve a fabulous tan!!
Air brush tanning is the process of artificially tanning the external layer of skin. The main ingredient, DHA, (dihydroxyacetone), is a colorless chemical derived from glycerine that interacts with the amino acids in dead skin cells producing a brown color change. Since these dead skin cells are constantly being shed, the color produced by DHA usually lasts about 5-7 days.
***Air brush tanning is for external use only
For added protection and a longer lasting tan we suggest the following:
- Prepare with an exfoliating shower, shaved legs, remove deodorant, lotions, and make up. Remove all jewelry and keep hair off face and neck.
- Protect ears, eyes, mouth, and nose. Wear ear plugs, goggles, lip balm, and nose plug. Not required- just suggested.
- Wear loose clothing the day of your service. Keep your feet free from shoes for at least one hour after service- any closed in shoe may cause the tan to rub off.
- Wash only the palms of the hands for at least one hour after the service.
The longer period of uninterrupted drying time, the better your tan.
- Refrain from perspiring immediately after service. Perspiring alters the reaction of the spray tan.
- The use of swimming pools, hot tubs, and long hot showers is not recommended.
- Shower water should be kept as cool as possible. After the initial shower, moisturize daily, this will allow for longer results. Moisturizing allows tan to fade more evenly.
